ESdesign, Superior School of Design of Barcelona, organizes the first festival to worship art, the FES ESDESIGN, and we have been invited to give a talk on “Fashion and Entrepreneurship”. Our founder Hortense Giraud will speak about the following topic:
‘What does an emerging fashion and design brand have to have in 2020?’
We will be accompanied by great creatives from Barcelona, some of whom we have collaborated with in the past: Lara Costafreda, Firma, Vasva, Martín Azúa, Oblícuas, Sociedad0 and Pau Garcia from Domestic Data Streamers.
With an Instagram account, Hortense Giraud brings MYBARRIO to life in 2016: a platform and community that extracts the creative essence of a city, promotes and sells a careful selection of its best design and lifestyle. It was born in Barcelona, as the first city, and today MYBARRIO has become a recognizable design label and one of the largest creative communities in the city.
After more than ten years of a career between France and Spain, in the fashion and design industry as Buyer and Head of Collection in brands and companies such as LVMH, Chanel, Chloé, Dior, Zara, Massimo Dutti, The Kooples, Hortense changed her life to get closer to values she felt more connected to; those of crafts, closeness, slowlife, emerging design and respect for others.
Among other projects, MYBARRIO runs an online marketplace and creates unique pop-up events with different concepts. So far 11 in 3 years have been organized in different spaces, among others, in the Modernist Venue of Sant Pau, Flowers by Bornay, Margot House, H2O Gallery, Soho House, and more than 500 creatives have participated, among others Paloma Wool, About Arianne, Bobo Choses, Antoni Arola, Mesura, Six’n’five, Angie Couple, Diego Cabezas, Après Ski, Matagalan Plantae, Bobo Choses, Carla Cascales, Jordi Canudas.
